1. God's rules are not like walls on a cage, but like bumpers on a bowling alley. They exist not to restrain you, but to help direct you to your proper destination.
Courage to Soar by Simone Biles
At just 19 years old, American gymnast Simone Biles won five medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Four of them were gold. In her new autobiography, Simone talks about the troubles of her childhood (leaving her mother as a toddler), challenges in her career (missing the USA National Team in 2011) and how God helped guide her through it all to become the world-class athlete she is today.
Turn off electronics an hour before bed
Seeing the light from all of our electronics activates chemicals in our brain that tell us it is daytime and we need to stay awake. For this reason, it's best to avoid electronics at the end of the day. To help end my day without any screens, I like to schedule music practice or reading as the last thing I do before bed. If you do need to use electronics close to bedtime, I highly recommend apps like f.lux and Twilight. In addition to minimizing the quantity of light coming from your device, it changes the color from blue light to red light, which is less arousing to your eyes.
