Book: When Nobody was Watching: My Hard-Fought Journey to the Top of the Soccer World by Carli Lloyd
Since scoring 3 goals in the USA's route of Japan in the 2015 Women's World Cup Final, Carli Lloyd has been in the discussion as one of the greatest soccer players of all time.
I can say that this book is without a doubt my new favorite autobiography. Some elite athletes (Michael Phelps) have stories of immense success and hardly any failure for an ordinary reader to relate to. Carli Lloyd's story is not one of those. As a teenager, she failed to make the club team she wanted to play for. She continued to face setbacks both on and off the field as a college player and even a decade into her professional career. Lloyd's story is very human, and very relatable for any reader, sport...

Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss
Tim Ferriss' writing sparked my idea for "Three-Bullet Thursday" and number of other new habits. In this novel, Tim interviews over 100 world-class icons, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, 5-Time New York Times Bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell, and Olympic gold-medalist Shaun White, just to name a few. Being the monster that it is (nearly 700 pages), Tools of Titans is a buffet: there are some things in there that you'll hate, but there's more than enough things that you'll love to make it worthwhile. It's rare that a book can promise you something of value no matter who you are, but this is one of those exceptions.

Courage to Soar by Simone Biles
At just 19 years old, American gymnast Simone Biles won five medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Four of them were gold. In her new autobiography, Simone talks about the troubles of her childhood (leaving her mother as a toddler), challenges in her career (missing the USA National Team in 2011) and how God helped guide her through it all to become the world-class athlete she is today.
Turn off electronics an hour before bed
Seeing the light from all of our electronics activates chemicals in our brain that tell us it is daytime and we need to stay awake. For this reason, it's best to avoid electronics at the end of the day. To help end my day without any sc...

2. Book: The Everything Store by Brad Stone
3. New habit: For the next week, spend one hour each day without your phone (or with your phone on airplane mode). Go for a walk, read a book, or eat with a friend. You may be surprised at how alleviating it feels to be free from your technology.
